Four days at Papagayo
Papagayo is an area of Guanacaste with a number of wedding venues, and the Four Seasons is one of them. Elizabeth and Kyle chose it for a destination wedding that unfolded over four days, with the wedding itself on the third.
The big day followed two days of activities. For us, the photography meant paying attention to every detail of a getaway shared by family and friends.

A mountainside, the sea behind
The ceremony took place on a mountainside with the beach as the backdrop. Greenery and white, elegant decoration set the scene, and the soft light of early summer settled over the ceremony.
It was emotional to photograph Kyle’s face when he first saw Elizabeth.

Their guests, and Costa Rica
Two things came first for Elizabeth and Kyle. They wanted to enjoy time with all of their guests, and they wanted a destination wedding in Costa Rica with almost one hundred of them.
They chose a Pura Vida wedding style, with the beach and nature, and it fit them well.

Spread the celebration over several days.
Elizabeth and Kyle’s weekend gave guests two days of activities before the wedding. If time with everyone is the priority, plan the days around it.
Ask about the light for your season.
Soft early-summer light shaped their ceremony. Ask your photographer and planner what the light does at your ceremony time and date.
Keep the decoration simple.
Greenery and white decoration suited a ceremony with the beach behind it. Florals for this wedding came from Art Flower, listed in the credits.
Decide what matters first.
They put guests and a Costa Rica destination first. A short, honest list of priorities makes every later decision easier.
